Gwen Stefani Enters Beauty Industry with New GXVE
The singer’s beauty line titled “GXVE” features a range of products that include an eye shadow palette in four colour collections.
Singer and entrepreneur Gwen Stefani, whose makeup looks are as iconic as her music, launched an affordable beauty label, GXVE (pronounced give). She debuted it at a private event in her hometown of Anaheim. It was there where she took over family-owned Italian Eatery Mama Cozza’s and serenaded Los Angeles beauty editors, with a four-song set that included “Underneath It All,” “Just A Girl,” “Don’t Speak” and “Hollaback Girl.”
The line is began and not tested on animals. Moreover, the brand posted on its Instagram account: “GXVE is a not to the endless sharing of inspiration within our community of makeup lovers – celebrating each other’s creativity & individuality. We create looks to express ourselves, learn from each other, and take that with us. That’s the give and take of being part of this community.”
Why did Gwen decide to enter the beauty industry? ‘People have been asking for 35 years, “What colour lips are you wearing?” So that was the obvious place to start,‘ she said, explaining that people always asked her about what colour lip she wears. Thus, she decided that this was the perfect time to start this journey and share her red lipstick with her fans.
‘I don’t need to be doing this. I don’t need to be working. But with all the blessings behind me, this is my give back,’ she said, emphasizing that she is happy to be able to offer her cosmetics-related expertise to her fans.
The singer added: ‘This is my chance to have a legacy and build my purpose. I know that makeup gives me a feeling and that’s why I’m doing this because I want to share that with people.‘
Stefani gave the media outlet a bit of insight into the inspiration behind her cosmetic style.
‘My looks were always inspired by old Hollywood: the red lips, the matte powder, the cat-eye, sharp brow,‘ she stated.
Although she had not anticipated beginning a career in performance, she had always thought about working in cosmetics. ‘Music was something unexpected, but makeup was something I’ve always done since I was a little girl. I don’t know why. I don’t know how, but it was born in me. I’ve always loved it,‘ she said. The singer added, ‘I don’t need to be doing this. I don’t need to be working. But with all the blessings behind me, this is my give back,‘ she said, explaining that, although she made enough from her musical career to live on, she was happy to be able to offer her cosmetics-related expertise to her fans.
‘This is my chance to have a legacy and build my purpose. I know that makeup gives me a feeling and that’s why I’m doing this because I want to share that with people.’
