MTV VMAs Brought All the Glamour & Style to the Red-Carpet

The 39th MTV VMAs took place at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, and needless to say, the red carpet did not disappoint and left us with some incredible and iconic looks. The MTV Video Music Awards continues to be a red carpet must-see.

Part of that intrigue is undoubtedly due to the more risqué styles the ceremony attracts. This year, stars like Taylor Swift, Lizzo and members of Blackpink wore dazzling looks from designers Oscar de la Renta, Jean Paul Gaultier, Carolina Herrera, Schiaparelli, among others, vying for a spot in the VMAs Most Memorable Looks Hall of Fame. Taylor Swift returned to the awards show in a nearly nude Oscar de la Renta gown. They also brought ensembles to life with fetish-inspired accessories, like singer Dove Cameron’s chunky leather choker, or pops of color, like Sabrina Carpenter’s rainbow embellishments. The stars also dared to bare it all, with celebrities like Ashley Graham, Tate McRae, Anitta and Jennie from Blackpink all showing off their looks.

Aside from pink, black was the color of the night, from Lili Reinhart’s black lace to Lil Nas X’s tiered overskirt and matching feather headpiece. The stars hit the red carpet putting their best foot forward with some of their best looks yet. Here’s a look at the best designs of the night.

Becky G

Becky G in a Zuhair Murad dress inspired by tarot cards and a pop of Treslúce Beauty’s Intenso Liner in Amor on her lips, the “MAMIII” singer stood out as one of our favorites of the night.

Maneskin

Måneskin brought their signature rock ‘n’ roll style to the 2022 MTV VMAs.

The Italian alternative group, who were nominated for three awards at Sunday night’s awards show, attended the ceremony wearing matching black Gucci looks.

Anitta

Singer Anitta looked gorgeous paying homage to Lil Kim’s famed 1999 VMAs outfit. She wore an asymmetrical red corset and an artistic nipple cover from Schiaparelli Haute Couture Collection Fall/Winter 2022.

Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X was on the spot during the evening award-event! He looked stunning wearing a sculptural Harris Reed ensemble featuring a tiered feathered skirt frame and headdress.

Dove Cameron

Singer Dove Cameron wore a strapless Paco Rabanne dress, combining with florals and leather fetishwear elements and a black choker to top it all off.

Conan Gray

Singer Conan Gray chose to grace the runway wearing a whimsical Harris Reed ensemble with a lace-trimmed train and blazer.

Blackpink’s Members

Blackpink’s members Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé graced the red-carpet in complementary all-black outfits.

Colton Haynes
